Sources, methodology, limitations, and final assessment

35.1 Methodology

This report prioritizes GameStop’s official launch announcements and SEC filings for identity, platform history and current status. Loopring and Immutable documentation establish historical L2 workflows and integration boundaries. Ethereum documentation and standards explain the underlying account, token, NFT, provider and fee mechanics. Secondary sources are used only for the precise 2023 support deadline, extension-history context and a contemporaneous migration workflow, and are labeled accordingly.

No live GameStop Wallet installation, unpublished source code, binary reverse engineering, production traffic capture, penetration test, private audit, developer interview or legal opinion was available. The wallet’s support pages and original product domain are no longer a reliable current operating manual. Therefore the report does not claim a permanent named-token allowlist, current fees, current on-ramp availability, or continuing compatibility with any dApp.

35.3 Final assessment

For a former user, the right objective is complete migration: authenticate the recovery method, inspect Ethereum L1, Loopring L2 and Immutable X separately, identify every token and NFT by contract/identifier, preserve records, create a fresh maintained destination, test each route, move assets, revoke obsolete approvals and retire the old keys if their exposure cannot be ruled out. The wallet’s disappearance does not erase on-chain ownership, but it removes a trusted interface and support channel. [4][20][21][22]
